Example installation on a fresh installed FreeBSD 10.x

My environment:
  • Fresh installed FreeBSD 10.1 (32bit)
  • Lenovo M58 with Intel E5400, 4GB Ram, 160GB HDD and Intel GPU (just bought used for 39€)
  • Installed following packets after minimal install via CD: xorg wdm windowmaker sudo firefox thunderbird mc-light
  • Install directory /opt/games/auteria
  • Check: /opt/games is writeable for users
  • download directory is ~/Downloads
  • Download Auteria http://auteria.com/index.php?c=download
  • cd /opt/games
  • tar -xzvf ~/Downloads/Auteria_197_4_FreeBSD.tgz
  • mv Auteria_197_4_FreeBSD/auteria .; rmdir Auteria_197_4_FreeBSD
  • sudo pkg install gcc SDL libGL libGLU openal libvorbis
Should run now ;)
cd /opt/games/auteria; ./auteria_freebsd

Edit: Too bad the game does not run so well with the Intel GPU driver. I get a intel_do_flush_locked failed: Input/output error and in the Xorg.log i see at same time:intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration.. This seams to be a bug in the current intel gpu driver. But this example also works with nvidia and ati graphic adapters.
