Would be nice when it would be possible to use other sound apps beside Auteria.
Anyway thank you very much for this nice game ;))

This issue it's openal related.

1. Either openal uses old oss
2. Or uses alsa and there is no device configured.

Edit /etc/openalrc and place those 2 lines:
(define devices '(alsa))
(define alsa-device "default")

Now you can use any ALSA (only) app with the game started.

Check openal documentation. If it supports pulse backend, then yes.

Hello!
Looks like I have no "/etc/openalrc" object on my PC. Any other solutions?
My OS is "Russian Fedora 10".

Can't even imagine what kind of type is this file. First it would be nice to figure out is it helpful. Creating just a file will not create Openal. Don't you think so?
Any suggestions about how to examine system? I'm pretty new in Linux.

Its just a normal text file. Its the config file for the openal program.

Dont know about fedora, as im using debian based systems, but you should check with your package manager if you have openal installed or not. If not, install it :)

Auteria itselfs provides a libary in the lib dir, so i could be enough to only create the /etc/openalrc file but i installed openal systemwide so other progs can use it too if needed.

For more info about OpenAL check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenAL

Finally found a solution that works for me.
Instead of starting Auteria with
Code: Select all
./auteria_shader
i start it using
Code: Select all
padsp ./auteria_shader
and got sound in all other KDE apps

Code: Select all
man padsp

padsp starts the specified program and redirects its access to OSS compatible audio devices (/dev/dsp and auxiliary devices) to a PulseAudio sound server.
