external browser not being started.

Postby RtrentC on Fri Jul 30, 2010 1:48 am

When someone posts an url in the chat, and I click on it, the program isn't starting my browser. I have read the Readme file and tried to add the prefs line to log/prefs.cs, but every time I run auteria the added line is removed from the prefs.cs file. When I click on a link, in the konsole where I started auteria I get the error message couldn't read application.ini

Operating system Linux 2.6 series kernel.
Desktop KDE version 4.4.4
Browser, Firefox -- binary in /usr/bin/firefox

The added line should not get removed. Make sure auteria is not running when you edit the prefs.cs, else it is overwritten when the program close. I just tested it again. After a short search, the mentioned application.ini could be from firefox. I did not read the full post but there is a discussion about it: http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_offset=0&comments_threadId=0&comments_parentId=141721&comments_threshold=0&thread_sort_mode=commentDate_asc&forumId=1&time_control=3600

When I edit ~/auteria/log/prefs.cs and add $Pref::Unix::WebBrowser="/usr/bin/firefox"; to the file, the line is there when the program starts but is removed when the program closes. I have added the application.ini file and I still get the message that it can't read application.ini
